So many of you know about the situations plaguing my life recently (ok, the last year plus and much in the last few weeks). Well, those of you on my board, Dark City of Singe.

Things got "better" in small ways and in stage.

First, I'm now on "my own" webhost server, proxy through Kahlan.

Today was my followup interview with Home Depot. It was apparantly just for fun, as they sent me up for some paperwork and sent me on my way for a piss test. As long as I haven't forgotten any crack I might have done, and my "background" is clear, then I should start orientation next weekend-ish.

When I got home, as I was putting away a few grocieries, I told Ray about the job, and that I needed a vehicle in a week for cheap as fuck. We immediately went out to two places, but I had to pick up Barb (the homeowner of the place I live) as I had borrowed her car to make the interview. He went off on his own to look at a couple places while I got her. When he returned, he brought me tidings of a 1988 Bronco XLT for $200. We ran up there and grabbed it, and he'll be doing some work on it this week while I change the title, reg it, insure, and all that jazz.

It's been an interesting day, all in all.

My guess is it's either Reilly's version of the costume, or at a higher percentage, the House of M universe costume.

New Avengers #16, kicking off a post-House of M arc, the released cover includes all the current Avengers, minus Sentry.

Young Avengers #10 cover shows Patriot still on the team, Vision on the team, and that chick really is the new Hawkeye.

Jarhead was a pretty good flick. I went to see it with Roger, and we were laughing through more of the movie than Waiting, which is pretty good for not being a comedy.

This army movie, which centers around the Marine Corps (HOO RAH) and one sniper in particular, does a good job at portraying a solidier who worked through the USMC, his unit, and the idea that not everyone in Desert Storm actually DID anything.

Do not look for a payoff in this movie. It doesn't exist. The last 30 minutes kind of sneak by with very little interest. Enjoy the enjoyable parts, which come fast and hard throughout the first half and then some.

On a Preview note, "Fun With Dick and Jane", the next Jim Carrey movie, looks to be very amusing. I can't wait, as I adore Jim's comedy flicks.

Green Lantern wave 2

Shark looks cool, but I have no interest in having him.

Salaak looks unbelievably funky. I don't like the red finger/toe ends; not only are they distracting, I don't recall him being colored that way in the book. I also don't like the white parts on the face of his ring. It seems wrong.

Still nothing on the Manhunter.

As per the Beef's worries, this is nothing more than an update on the first release. Which sucks for us since we spent bigger money on getting the first Guy off of ebay. The colors are more vibrant, keeping with the current color scheme, and the head scuplt has also changed. The bowlcut is gone in lieu of a close cropped semi-spiked look. His smirk is still there, though more obvious, however he's also now sporting a "Rock"-esque raised eyebrow. The paint seems a bit sloppy (especially compared to the wonderful Shark). I may get this and add it to my "Corps" and take the "old" Gardner and put it with the older Kyle.

Like Guy, the first shots of the "mystery figure", Sinestro in GL uniform, are up.

Unlike Guy, I know I must have this. It's not current in any way shape or form, but it looks GOOD. Better than either Qwardian-ringed Sinestro I have (old DCD release and Justice release). He is well colored, looks mean, it's great.

So Friday night I'm to meet with Ange and Roge (fuck you both, that's how I spell it!!) to see Doom.

I played Halo 2 with Cybin (also going at the same time at a different theater) to spend time between work and Doom. I was set to play till 9, and head out, but at 8:44 I get an IM from the ex that she wants me to stop in.

So eh, I went. She's been crying and tells me that someone copied her myspace pic and name and made a myspace account using them, but put a different town and posted a paragraph about being a hoe! Her brothers fiance found it and showed the brother, who showed the mother, and they decided it was real!

I laughed on the inside, thinking it was completely ridiculous, and even more ridiculous that they believed it. She told me she was expediting moving out.

I went back to Halo around 9 and tried for one more game. We hit modders and tried again, and then it was 9:25. Cybin and I both took off.

As I walked across the grass of the theater, I was deleting a text msg on my phone from Beefy, and I walked into one of the spotlights. I cut open my shin and bled through the movie.

Aldazar was 7 years 5 months and 8 days old. For the last few years his health has steadily declined, even through a surgery and a corrective procedure.

He will be missed by all that loved him.

To the Beef and Maverick;

This upcoming Thursday at Zapp will be our last. Funny that it may be tainted with the return of the owner.

My promotion is finally about to take hold. I work overnight this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, then I'm off until the following Monday morning, where I begin my first day shift in 5 or 6 years (by that I mean constant day shift, not counting any times where I stayed around to help out or anything).

A new hanging schedule will have to be made, if you guys still want to. I can't even quote you a time that I'll get off of work, as I've been promised a good chunk of overtime due to a busy Accounting department.

As of September 26th, 2005, I'll be working a normal 9 to 5-ish schedule, Mondays through Fridays, with most weekends off (I know these people, I'll work an occasional Saturday or Sunday).

On a more fun note, all our filecards are done and printed. I also won a Guy Gardner.

Oh, and I'm off today too, so if anyone wants some company, call me! Please! I'll pay you money!

I hope I didn't bum you out man! But I figure hell, like a quarter of the cast say they weren't into it the first time they went, so it's not like I'm beyond hope. I also had the mouth thing and the "seat that could only fit one of my ass cheeks" thing going on, so I was physically miserable. But basically everytime you were seen it perked up the whole thing.

I forgot to mention, anyone have interest in going to the Jets-Giants PreSeason game the 26th? It's next Friday night, 8 p.m.. I'm working a back to back shift (Thursday night and Friday-day).

Saturday

I "mini-napped" a couple hours at a time. As it grew later in the day, I realized that the pain had taken the next step. Infection/inflamation. I had a similar problem once on the opposite side of my mouth, but there it was relegated to the one tooth. Here, the whole section of my jaw jumped out in swelling. Not only did it hurt the entire side of my face, but I couldn't open my mouth more than half an inch.

Finally I got out of bed at 4, already 2 hours late for the party. I jumped online briefly, then ran to the laundromat where luckily I could pick up my clothes. I ran home, emptied my truck (the plan was that I'd be driving Roger, Beef, Heather, and maybe more that night), sorted my clothes, grabbed what I needed, and jumped in the shower. I dressed, grabbed the Batman Beyond DVD's I burned for Beef, and the directions to his house, and left. It was almost 5:30 when I arrived. I ate a very little bit (had given Angelo a brief tooth-problem rundown). Angelo decided we had to play volleyball in the pool. My team whipped ass every game, like 7 games straight, even after team member changes. I played on (technically popping off of) my knees the first 4 or so games, but as usual my feet eventually started to cramp, so I stayed standing.

We all filed in and we got the first row, with seating that Continental would have been proud of. I had to crowbar my way into the seat, with absolutely NO legroom. They randown a few things then called the "virgins" (IE firsttimers to the show) to the stage. The first group got plates of coolwhip, one with a cherry in it. Game was to find the cherry. The second one, where Roger and I got stuck in, involved eating munchkins off of crotches. Guys got guys and girls got girls. I got the fat joke, with every excess munchkin dumped on the guys crotch I was set in front of. Beyond the lying Beef did to get us to this point, the gayness of the run, and the ultra pathetic "fat guy" jokes, there was also the sticking point of my extremely fucked up jaw and the way I couldn't open it to save my life. I very nearly punched Angelo. (Sorry Beef!)

After that it was time for the show itself. It was interesting, but honeslty not all that much fun for me. I went into it knowing I wouldn't enjoy it. The style wasn't my thing, and I'd seen just enough of the movie to know I wasn't interested. So many people had been there before (this kind of thing gets regulars) that even the "callbacks" weren't fun, cause half the people in the theater know them by heart. It's like a private joke you're missing out on.

Beef did Eddie, Meatloaf's part in the movie, the biker ex-delivery guy that rides around for a song then ends up EXACTLY where he started only to get killed by the transvestite. For his birthday, the stage version of the death scene consisted of a group of Catholic schoolgirls jumping Angelo.

Oh, right. It was "Catholic Schoolgirl" night.

One of the more fun moments was during Frank-N-Furter's run-ins with the couple of the movie. They were in seperate bedrooms and Frank arrived in both and screws both of them. The stage version was interupted as Beef, stripped to boxers, barreled out of the backstage and chased "Frank" around, eventually catching him and summarily embarassing him.

It's just one of those things that wasn't all that appealing to me. I'm crappy with names, but the guys that did Frank and his creepy sidekick/alien commander were my faves, along with staring at the mostly naked girl in the beginning of the show.

It feels like a jackhammer inside my mouth and skull...

My mouth has been a sore subject for a long time. Years of dentist hatred and non-tooth-care have left me in constant bouts of pain that I truly believe is on par with a migraine or a hangover, not that I've experienced either to compare.

Today has been the latest bout. My bottom decimated tooth flared up, and within a few hours the whole side of my jaw was aflame. And when I get a toothache like this, it spreads and makes me feel like I have an earache too. So the entire right side of my head feels like it's being smashed with a 2x4.

No, that would feel better right about now.

Sleep was impossible. I tossed for hours on end, needing rest for the beef later today, but in so much pain I couldn't relax.

Work is more of the same. I can't concentrate on anything for more than a minute, the pain just rips it's way through. I'll be leaving early.

Oral pain relievers are mostly worthless (Ambesol) and children's bayer isn't helping either (I have a crazy gag reflex, swallowing pills is out of the question).

It's going to be a loooooong day.

This hasn't been a rosy couple of days for me.

I got the news I'll be promoted, finally going upstairs on the day shift as a Jr Staff Accountant. It's not glamorous, and the hours screw me out of Zapp time, but it's a move, which I SORELY need. That was Wednesday morning (after an extra 2 hours on my shift).

When I arrived home, though, I got into a big blast in efed territory that lasted hours. The rest of the day I spent sleeping, I think, then work again. Wednesday night was long and slow and boring. I had some decent efed convos, nothing special.

Thursday morning I ended up quitting the fed I was in, realizing even my fantasy life sucks ass. I relaxed with Yu Yu Hakusho for a few episodes, then dropped off my laundry to get cleaned up nice before heading to Zapp.

Zapp was a bust since the owner was around. He's not the thrillingist guy and we all tone it down massive, so less fun is had by all. Maverick and I were also threatened with major embarrasment by the Beef at Rocky Horror on Saturday.

After Zapp and a brief rest period, I tracked down Mav on Halo 2 and we rocked out with our cocks out. Luckily we were on a headset only live system, so no one was the wiser!!

I slept only a few hours, then work again. Work sucked badly. 3 hours straight of crappy work before I could even begin my actual job.

Saturday will be long and crazy, from 2 p.m. to like 4 a.m., with only a bit of sleep between work and the start. So I want to try and catch some z's today, but I'm in a shitty mood, so I need to video game and blow shit up to calm down.

In LJ news, TATER!!

Last Thursday at Zapp, Roger decided to buy a Darth Tater. And was EXCITED about said purchase.

The second Angelo noticed it, he punted the thing halfway across the store.

Pieces flew.

Roger's jaw hit the floor.

I laughed. A lot.

The rest of the day was spent making Tater jokes, and Roger and I haven't stopped since, though my sleeping message switched to a Green Lantern motif.

I've also went and started my own LJ community!

3 weeks ago Jersey suffered the 4th in a quick run of major snowstorms.

Now we're in a friggin heatwave.

To me, anyway.

I'm a big overweight Russian guy. My body overheats EASILY, and as such, I need to be kept cool. I'm like a friggin UniSol, without the being dead thing.

The two rooms I currently occupy suck ass. The electric wiring is crappy, and the one room (where I sleep) is a deck. Lotsa windows, lotsa sun.

Friggin oven.

The worst part is the INNER room, away from the deck, heats up the fastest and the worst.

So now that it's "nice" outside, I'm boiling when I attempt to sleep. What that does is keep me VERY uncomfortable, so I can't sleep for shit.

I started searching for A/C's (I can't recall HOW I managed to slip through last year). With some prodding I finally started giving portable a/c's serious thought, and in the end, bought a 13,000 BTU dual exhaust job. This baby dehunidifies and everything. I lucked out and hit it during one or two sales, where the unit was nearly $100 cheaper and the 4 - 11 day shipping was free.

A favor to ask of Ange; That friend from work that I got that copy of GL:R for, wants to grab the Red Hood arc of Batman and follow it into Family Ties (after my telling of the tale). As I expected, I wasn't overly impressed with Hal Jordan: Spectre. The glow in the dark thing throws off the basic coloring of the figure, the cape/hood doesn't seem to fit/flow right, and honestly reusing the Hal mold was crap. But he's up, taking the new Parallex's base to stand, next to reg Hal below Emerald Shield Hal. Pics should be srriving soon.
